Let us all be vigilant, and go out to meet Christ, with a good supply of oil and lamps burning bright, so that we be granted entry to the bridal hall. He who ended up outside the door, to no avail cried out, “Have mercy on me!” [SD]

Κύριε, τὸ ποτήριον τοῦ πάθους σου, οἱ Ἀθλοφόροι σου ζηλώσαντες, κατέλιπον τὴν τοῦ βίου τερπνότητα, καὶ γεγόνασι τῶν Ἀγγέλων συμμέτοχοι. Αὐτῶν ταῖς παρακλήσεσι, παράσχου ταῖς ψυχαῖς ἡμῶν, ἱλασμὸν ἁμαρτιῶν, καὶ τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.	Lord, Your medal-winning martyrs longed to drink the cup of Your Passion. So they forsook the delights of this life, and they became partners with the Angels. At their supplications, grant to our souls forgiveness of sins and the great mercy. [SD]

Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Παράγων ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκ τοῦ ἱεροῦ, εὗρεν ἄνθρωπον τυφλὸν ἐκ γενετῆς· καὶ σπλαγχνισθείς, ἐπέθηκε πηλὸν ἐπὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτόν· Ὕπαγε, νίψαι εἰς τοῦ Σιλωάμ· καὶ νιψάμενος ἀνέβλεψε, δόξαν ἀναπέμπων Θεῷ, οἱ δὲ ἀγχισταὶ αὐτοῦ, ἔλεγον αὐτῷ· Τίς σου τὰς κόρας διήνοιξεν, ἃς οὐδεὶς τῶν βλεπόντων ἰᾶσαι ἴσχυσεν; ὁ δὲ φησὶ βοήσας· Ἄνθρωπος, Ἰησοῦς λεγόμενος, ἐκεῖνός μοι ἔφη· Νίψαι εἰς τοῦ Σιλωάμ, καὶ ἀνέβλεψα. Αὐτός ἐστιν ἀληθῶς, ὃν ἔφη Μωσῆς ἐν τῷ νόμῳ, Χριστὸν Μεσσίαν, αὐτός ἐστιν ὁ Σωτὴρ τῶν ψυχῶν ἡμῶν.	When Jesus left the Temple, as He passed by He found a man blind from birth; and moved with compassion, He put mud on his eyes and said to him, “Go and wash in the pool of Siloam.” So he washed and received his sight, giving glory to God. But his kinsmen said to him, “Who is it that opened your eyes, which no one who sees was able to heal?” And he proclaimed and said to them, “A man called Jesus, He told me to wash in Siloam, and I received my sight. He is truly the one about whom Moses spoke in the Law, Christ, Messiah. He is the Savior of our souls.” [SD]

Ἄγγελον εἰρήνης, πιστὸν ὁδηγόν, φύλακα τῶν ψυχῶν καὶ τῶν σωμάτων ἡμῶν παρὰ τοῦ Κυρίου αἰτησώμεθα.	For an angel of peace, a faithful guide, a guardian of our souls and bodies, let us ask the Lord.
Συγγνώμην καὶ ἄφεσιν τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν καὶ τῶν πλημμελημάτων ἡμῶν παρὰ τοῦ Κυρίου αἰτησώμεθα.	For pardon and remission of our sins and transgressions, let us ask the Lord.
Τὰ καλὰ καὶ συμφέροντα ταῖς ψυχαῖς ἡμῶν καὶ εἰρήνην τῷ κόσμῳ παρὰ τοῦ Κυρίου αἰτησώμεθα.	For that which is good and beneficial for our souls, and for peace for the world, let us ask the Lord.
Τὸν ὑπόλοιπον χρόνον τῆς ζωῆς ἡμῶν ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ μετανοίᾳ ἐκτελέσαι παρὰ τοῦ Κυρίου αἰτησώμεθα.	That we may complete the remaining time of our life in peace and repentance, let us ask the Lord.
Χριστιανὰ τὰ τέλη τῆς ζωῆς ἡμῶν, ἀνώδυνα, ἀνεπαίσχυντα, εἰρηνικὰ καὶ καλὴν ἀπολογίαν τὴν ἐπὶ τοῦ φοβεροῦ βήματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ αἰτησώμεθα.	And let us ask for a Christian end to our life, peaceful, without shame and suffering, and for a good defense before the awesome judgment seat of Christ.
Τῆς παναγίας, ἀχράντου, ὑπερευλογημένης, ἐνδόξου, δεσποίνης ἡμῶν, Θεοτόκου καὶ ἀειπαρθένου Μαρίας μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων μνημονεύσαντες, ἑαυτοὺς καὶ ἀλλήλους καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ζωὴν ἡμῶν Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ παραθώμεθα.	Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Τύφλωσις ὤφθη, ὁ Τυφλὸς τοῖς τάχα βλέπουσι, σκοτίζων καὶ τὰς φρένας, καὶ τὰς ψυχάς, καὶ τὸν νοῦν, τὴν τούτου θεωροῦσιν ἄωρον βλέψιν· καὶ φωνήσαντες ἠρώτων δεινῶς· Πῶς ἄρτι ὁρᾶσαι, ὡς εἷς τῶν φῶς ὁρώντων, τυφλὸς ὑπάρχων ἐκ γενετῆς, καὶ προκαθήμενος τρίβοις, καὶ προσαιτῶν; Ὅθεν ὑπέδειξε τὸν τὸ φῶς χορηγοῦντα, καὶ πλαστουργήσαντα τὰ φῶτα ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ· ἐξ ὧν κηρύττεται, Υἱὸς Θεοῦ προάναρχος, ἐπʼ ἐσχάτων ἐκ τῆς Παρθένου βροτὸς φανείς, διʼ οἶκτον ἐκ θείου Πνεύματος.	The Blindman became blindness for those who thought they saw. For when they observed that he regained his sight so late in life, it darkened their hearts, their souls, and their minds. They summoned him and harshly interrogated him. “How do you now see, like one of us who see the light? You were born blind, and you sat on the sidewalk and begged.” Then he pointed out the One who gave him his sight, the One who fashioned lights in the world. He is One who is therefore proclaimed to be God’s pre-eternal Son, who for mercy’s sake in latter days became incarnate of the Virgin and the Holy Spirit. [SD]

Ὥσπερ φορτίον, καὶ γεῶδες ἀχθοφόρημα, ὡρᾶτο τοῖς ἐν κόσμῳ, περιπατῶν ὁ Τυφλός, καὶ ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις πόδας συντρίβων, τάχα ὡς ὅρασιν τὴν ῥάβδον πλουτῶν· ὅθεν καταφεύγει πρὸς τὸν Φωτοδότην, ἐξ οὗ λαμβάνει τὸ φῶς ὁρᾶν, καὶ ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ βλέπειν τὸν Ποιητήν, τὸν καθʼ ὁμοίωσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ κατʼ εἰκόνα, δημιουργήσαντα τὴν φύσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ἐκ γῆς τὸ πρότερον, καὶ νῦν χοῒ καὶ πτύσματι, καταυγάσαντα τούτου τὰς κόρας, καὶ δόντα φιλανθρώπως βλέπειν τὸν ἥλιον.	When the Blindman walked, possessing a cane in place of vision, and stubbing his toes in the public square, it appeared to those in the world to be such a heavy load and burden. So he turned to Giver of light, and from Him he received his sense of vision, and with his very own eyes he saw his Maker, who of old fashioned human nature from earth in His image and likeness, and who now with soil and saliva gave sight to his eyes, and benevolently granted him to see the sun. When the Blindman saw the light, he saw the Father’s Logos, conformed to human nature, who granted him to see the shining sun that rules the day, just like other people do. He rejoiced at his newfound vision, because of which he was seen to walk straight, and to take the paths without stumbling. He also recognized God’s Son, who had given him his sight, and who in His extreme compassion became man, remaining what He was, God become human, taking on what He was not, and preserving His oneness without confusion.
