But by Your resurrection, You cut off its bitterness and strengthened humanity against it, by reversing the failure that resulted in the ancient curse. O Defender of our life, glory to You, O Lord! In the middle of Sukkoth, the Jewish feast, * in the temple, O Savior, You stood and taught, * reproving the senselessness of the Jews who did not believe, * and proclaiming to the people, as God who loves humanity, * saying, “If any one thirst, let him come unto me and drink”; * promising that those who believe in You will be given * the waters of wisdom from Your divine and immortal fount. * For this reason we cry to You: * O Christ our God yourself send down * Your all-holy Spirit on to us, * and save us, for You are very merciful. Τῆς ἑορτῆς τῆς νομικῆς μεσαζούσης, ὁ τῶν ἁπάντων Ποιητὴς καὶ Δεσπότης, πρὸς τοὺς παρόντας ἔλεγες, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός· Δεῦτε καὶ ἀρύσασθε, ὕδωρ ἀθανασίας· ὅθεν σοι προσπίπτομεν, καὶ πιστῶς ἐκβοῶμεν· Τοὺς οἰκτιρμούς σου δώρησαι ἡμῖν· σὺ γὰρ ὑπάρχεις πηγὴ τῆς ζωῆς ἡμῶν.	The feast according to the Law at its midpoint, O Christ our God, as the Creator and Master of everything, You said to all those who were present there, “Come that you might draw from Me the water of immortality.” Hence with faith we cry to You as we prostrate before You. Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέραᾳ, μνήμη τῶν Ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Ἰούστου, Ἰουστίνου, Χαρίτωνος, Χαριτοῦς, Εὐελπίστου, Ἱέρακος, Παίωνος, καὶ Βαλλεριανοῦ.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyrs Chariton, Charito, Evelpistus, Hierax, Peon, and Valerian (or Liberianus), who witnessed with Saint Justin at Rome.

May He who rose from the dead, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
