Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, ἀπολυθέντες οἱ ἀπόστολοι ἦλθον πρὸς τοὺς ἰδίους καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν ὅσα πρὸς αὐτοὺς οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι εἶπον. οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἦραν φωνὴν πρὸς τὸν Θεὸν καὶ εἶπον· Δέσποτα, σὺ ὁ ποιήσας τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτοῖς, ὁ διὰ στόματος Δαυῒδ παιδός σου εἰπών· ἵνα τί ἐφρύαξαν ἔθνη καὶ λαοὶ ἐμελέτησαν κενά; παρέστησαν οἱ βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες συνήχθησαν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ κατὰ τοῦ Κυρίου καὶ κατὰ τοῦ Χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ. συνήχθησαν γὰρ ἐπ᾿ ἀληθείας ἐπὶ τὸν ἅγιον παῖδά σου Ἰησοῦν, ὃν ἔχρισας, Ἡρῴδης τε καὶ Πόντιος Πιλᾶτος σὺν ἔθνεσι καὶ λαοῖς Ἰσραήλ, ποιῆσαι ὅσα ἡ χείρ σου καὶ ἡ βουλή σου προώρισε γενέσθαι. καὶ τὰ νῦν, Κύριε, ἔπιδε ἐπὶ τὰς ἀπειλὰς αὐτῶν, καὶ δὸς τοῖς δούλοις σου μετὰ παρρησίας πάσης λαλεῖν τὸν λόγον σου ἐν τῷ τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐκτείνειν σε εἰς ἴασιν καὶ σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα γίνεσθαι διὰ τοῦ ὀνόματος τοῦ ἁγίου παιδός σου Ἰησοῦ. καὶ δεηθέντων αὐτῶν ἐσαλεύθη ὁ τόπος ἐν ᾧ ἦσαν συνηγμένοι, καὶ ἐπλήσθησαν ἅπαντες Πνεύματος Ἁγίου, καὶ ἐλάλουν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ παρρησίας.	In those days, when the apostles were released they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who by the mouth of our father David, thy servant, didst say by the Holy Spirit, ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples imagine vain things? The kings of the earth set themselves in array, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against his Christ’ — for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness. Ιω εʹ 24 – 30	Jn. 5:24 – 30
Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος πρὸς τοὺς ἐληλυθότας πρὸς αὐτὸν Ἰουδαίους· Ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὁ τὸν λόγον μου ἀκούων καὶ πιστεύων τῷ πέμψαντί με ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον, καὶ εἰς κρίσιν οὐκ ἔρχεται, ἀλλὰ μεταβέβηκεν ἐκ τοῦ θανάτου εἰς τὴν ζωήν. ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα, καὶ νῦν ἐστιν, ὅτε οἱ νεκροὶ ἀκούσονται τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ, καὶ οἱ ἀκούσαντες ζήσονται· ὥσπερ γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἔχει ζωὴν ἐν ἑαυτῷ, οὕτως ἔδωκε καὶ τῷ υἱῷ ζωὴν ἔχειν ἐν ἑαυτῷ· καὶ ἐξουσίαν ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ καὶ κρίσιν ποιεῖν, ὅτι υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ἐστί. μὴ θαυμάζετε τοῦτο· ὅτι ἔρχεται ὥρα ἐν ᾗ πάντες οἱ ἐν τοῖς μνημείοις ἀκούσονται τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐκπορεύσονται οἱ τὰ ἀγαθὰ ποιήσαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν ζωῆς, οἱ δὲ τὰ φαῦλα πράξαντες εἰς ἀνάστασιν κρίσεως. Οὐ δύναμαι ἐγὼ ποιεῖν ἀπ᾽ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐδέν. καθὼς ἀκούω κρίνω, καὶ ἡ κρίσις ἡ ἐμὴ δικαία ἐστίν· ὅτι οὐ ζητῶ τὸ θέλημα τὸ ἐμόν, ἀλλὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός.	The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself, and has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment. I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of the Father who sent me.” [RSV]

Τῇ ΙϚʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τοῦ Ὁσίου Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Θεοδώρου τοῦ Ἡγιασμένου.	On May 16 we commemorate our devout Father Theodore the Sanctified.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἐν Ἁγίοις Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἀλεξάνδρου Ἀρχιεπισκόπου Ἱεροσολύμων.	On this day we commemorate our Father among the Saints Alexander, Archbishop of Jerusalem.
Μνήμη τῶν Ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Αὐδᾶ, Αὐδιησοῦ ἐπισκόπου καὶ τῶν σὺν αὐτοῖς τριάκοντα ὀκτώ, πρεσβυτέρων δέκα ἕξ διακόνων ἐννέα, μοναχῶν ἕξ, καὶ παρθένων ἑπτά.	We also commemorate the holy Martyrs Abdas and Abdiesus the Bishops, and the thirty-eight with them: sixteen priests, nine deacons, six monks, and seven virgins.
Οἱ Ἅγιοι Μάρτυρες Ἰσαάκιος, Συμεὼν καὶ Βαχθισόης πυρὶ τελειοῦνται.	The holy Martyrs Isaakius, Symeon, and Bachthisoes died by fire.
Οἱ Ἅγιοι Ἀββάδες, οἱ ἐν τῇ μονῇ τοῦ Ἁγίου Σάββα, ὑπὸ τῶν Βλεμμύων ξίφει τελειοῦνται.	The holy Fathers of the Monastery of Saint Savas were died by the sword at the hands of the Bedouins.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Παπυλῖνος ξίφει τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Papylinus died by the sword.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Πέτρος, ὁ ἐν Βλαχέρναις, βουνεύροις τυφθείς, τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Peter of Blachernae, died after being lashed with ox-thongs.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Νικόλαος, Πατριάρχης Κωνσταντινουπόλεως, ἐν εἰρήνῃ τελειοῦται.	Saint Nicholas, Patriarch of Constantinople, reposed in peace.
Μνήμη τῆς Ἁγίας Εὐφημίας πλησίον τοῦ νεωρίου λιμένος εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν Δύναμιν.	We also commemorate Saint Euphemia at the Church of the Holy Power near the shipyard harbor.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Νεομάρτυς Νικόλαος ὁ ἐκ Μετσόβου, ὁ ἐκ Τρικκάλοις μαρτυρήσας (τῷ 1617), πυρὶ τελειοῦται.	The holy Neo-martyr Nicholas of Metsovo, who witnessed in Trikkala in 1617, died by fire.
Ταῖς αὐτῶν ἁγίαις πρεσβείαις, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. Ἀμήν.	By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us. Amen.
