The soldiers who were guarding Your tomb became like dead men, * O Savior, when Your Angel appeared there like lightning * and said to the women that You had risen, as You had said. * We now worship You, our only God, and extol You, * for You conquered death and dissolution, O Master, * and rose from the sepulcher. Verse: O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your anger. [SAAS]

Conceived as I was in iniquities, I the prodigal dare not look up into heaven. But with confidence in Your benevolence, I cry out: O God be gracious unto me and save me. [SD]

On May 13 we commemorate the holy Martyr Glykeria.

On this day we also commemorate our devout Father Sergius the Confessor.

On this day we also commemorate our devout Father Pafsicacos, Bishop of Synnada.

On this day Saint Laodicius the prison-guard was perfected in martyrdom by the sword.

On this day the holy Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop of Tiberiani, was perfected in martyrdom by the sword.

Our devout Father Efthymios the New, Founder of the sacred Monastery of Iveron and his father John the Iberian, and George their relative, reposed in peace.

Devout Saint Gabriel the Iberian, who heard the divine voice and retrieved the wonderworking Portress Icon of the Theotokos from the sea, reposed in peace.

The devout Martyrs, the monks of Iveron Monastery who censured the Latin-minded Emperor Michael Paleologus and the Patriarch John Beccus, died when they were thrown into the sea.

By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us. Amen.
