Mode 1.

Let us honor Nicholas Planas of Naxos, the holy priest of Athens. He was like an angel on earth, and in heaven he is a man of God. Among priests he was simple but also wise. In recent years he appeared sanctified; at all times he acted in a manner pleasing to the Lord; and he did what was good and beneficial to the people. Relying now on his entreaties and the sure confidence he has with God, we pray for mercy and the salvation of our souls. [SD]
