For this reason we cry out to you: ever intercede with Christ God that remission of errors be granted to those who celebrate with yearning your holy memory. [VPA]

On this day, the glorious * garland and glory of Martyrs, * Photini, who clearly went * up to the heavens, invites us, * who enjoy the gifts of grace that she distributes, * to observe her holy feast day and celebrate it * with our joyful hymns. And therefore * let all the faithful extol and honor her. [SD]

Today, I see a celebration of Martyrs, a solemn feast of a God-loving generation, here in the church of St. Photini, the glorious Great-martyr, and it is very bright, like the starry sky. In fact, those with her, being seven in number, shine on us brighter than any planet, and they send down gifts of illumination on those who faithfully honor them and annually celebrate their feast. And although I desire to translate their praises, I am unable. So, come and join me, all of you, and let us raise our hands in prayer, and let us cry out to her and say: “Rejoice, O Martyr of Christ. All we the faithful extol and honor you.” [SD]

On February 26, we commemorate the holy martyr Photini the Samaritan woman with whom Christ spoke at the well, and those with her.

Verses

They threw into a well Your Samaritan Woman,

the one who conversed with You at the well, O Logos.

On this day St. Photo, her sister, died by the sword.

On this day St. Photis, another of her sisters, died when she was tied to two trees and split in two.

On this day St. Paraskeve, another of her sisters, died by the sword.

On this day St. Kyriaki, another of her sisters, died by the sword.

On this day the holy martyr Joses, son of St. Photini, died by the sword.

On this day St. Photinos, another of her sons, died by the sword.

On this day St. Sebastian the Duke died by the sword.

On this day we also commemorate our devout father Porphyrios, Bishop of Gaza.

The holy new martyr John the craftsman died by the sword in Constantinople in the year 1575.
