Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are magnified exceedingly; You clothe Yourself with thanksgiving and majesty, who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a curtain; You are He who covers His upper chambers with water, who makes the clouds His means of approach, who walks on the wings of the winds, who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire. He established the earth on its stable foundation; it shall not be moved unto ages of ages. The deep like a garment is His covering; the waters shall stand upon the mountains; at Your rebuke they shall flee; at the sound of Your thunder, they shall be afraid. The mountains rise up, and the plains sink down to the place You founded for them. You set a boundary they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth. Mode 4. To a brave one.

Ὡς γενναῖον ἐν Μάρτυσι.

If You, O Lord, should mark transgression, O Lord, who would stand? For there is forgiveness with You. [SAAS]

With conviction unshakable, you enlisted to war against * the demonic foe, and you fought courageously. * For putting on the full armor of the Spirit, you stood secure * and defeated all the might * of the demons and took away all their spoils from them; * for you rescued the souls of human beings, O all-glorious Apostles. * Therefore we honor you evermore. [GOASD]

Because of Your law, O Lord, I waited for You; my soul waited for Your word. My soul hopes in the Lord. [SAAS]

Mode 4. When you were called.

Ὁ ἐξ ὑψίστου κληθείς.

For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption; and He shall redeem Israel from all his transgressions. [SAAS]

O you illustrious Martyrs of the Most High, * when, by many tortures, you had stripped off from yourselves * the ancient coats of mortality, you clothed yourselves in * the godly garment of incorruption’s grace. * Now that you have heaven as your dwelling-place and home * and ever stand by the throne of God, you shine with splendor, * brightly illumined, O Saints divinely-blest. * Therefore with faith we gladly celebrate * your exceedingly radiant memory, * and in church we now gather * and we kiss your relics reverently. Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; praise Him, all you peoples. [SAAS]

The right-victorious Martyrs, who were hidden * for the space of many years, are now made manifest * as precious treasure that richer makes the Queen of Cities * as they are solemnly carried in the hands * of the holy Hierarch with greatest reverence * and are escorted with faith and love into God’s temple * and are apportioned to all who make request, * unto complete health and enlightenment, * for our help and for all things that profit those * who receive and acknowledge * them as faithful servants of the Lord. I tell you plainly my sins and my offenses, * O pure Theotokos, for though I should hide them all, * they shall be made known on Judgment Day and become public, * when all the books shall be brought and opened up. * Viewing sordid images, I have befouled my eyes; * and by committing unlawful deeds, my hands are dirtied; * I made my body unfit for any good. * My sins have covered my wretched soul with wounds. * So take pity on me; intercede for me, * so that I might be counted * in the blessed portion of the saved. Guard them at all times, this evening and the coming night, from every enemy, from all demonic activity against them, from unprofitable reflections, and from wicked thoughts.

Mode 4.

With the Holy Spirit, O Christ, did You enlighten the choir of Apostles. Through them wash away the filth of our sins, and have mercy on us, O God. [SD]

Verse: I lift my eyes to You, who dwell in heaven. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the maidservant look to the hands of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He shall have compassion on us. [SAAS]

The Holy Spirit, O Christ our God, made the illiterate Disciples into teachers. And by the grandiloquent music of the tongues, He, being Omnipotent, abolished delusion. [SD]

You were humble and therefore you acquired exalted gifts, treasure in heaven for being poor. O Father and Hierarch St. Nicholas, intercede with Christ our God, and entreat Him to save our souls.
