Amen. Lord, have mercy. (12)

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Come, let us worship and bow down before God our King.

Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ God our King.

Come, let us worship and bow down before Him, Christ our King and God.

Psalm 50 (51).

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. [SAAS]

If the Lity was not sung at Vespers, sing the following:

Idiomela. For the Saint.

From Menaion - - -

Mode 1.

Be glad in the Lord, all you cities of Hellas, and leap in exultation; for you possess the head of the Great-martyr Haralambos. It is for you a weighty treasure that never fails. With you we also daily draw from it the waters of healing, and we are safe from the all-destroying plague; and we give thanks to God, the Protector and Savior of our souls and bodies. [SD]

Mode 1.

O Martyr Haralambos, you are praised by all, for you fought well the fight for God, and you have become a citizen of the Kingdom of heaven, and now you intercede for the world. You left your much afflicted body on earth, to be a saving cure for those who approach it and touch it with longing. The land of Greece has your all-venerable head as inexhaustible wealth and as a priceless treasure. Through your relic, she receives the utmost gifts, and by the overshadowing of the divine grace that is in you, she is delivered from adversities. [SD]

Mode 1.

O Martyr Haralambos, ardent faith and longing for your Master set you on fire, and you used martyrdom for Christ as a ladder to ascend to the celestial meadows. Now from heaven, by the grace that God has given you, you watch over us who celebrate your venerable memory, and who honor your feats of martyrdom, and who kiss your precious relics. [SD]

Mode 1.

O Saint, with the firm resistance of your contests, you blunted the evil one’s sharp arrows and you shamed the serpent, the author of wickedness, and his instrument, that most ungodly man Severus. You were established on the rock of faith and your resolve was immovable, thus you remained unshaken, and the ungodly arguments were unable to overturn your steadfast correct belief. And now you dance for joy with the Angels in the heavens, and you unceasingly intercede for us who with faith and longing honor your all-venerable head in sacred song. [SD]

Mode 1.

O valiant athlete of Christ and Great-martyr Haralambos, you disdained all things present as fleeting, you loudly declared the true God in the stadium with mighty resolve. And now, as you rejoice with the Angels in heaven, unceasingly entreat Christ, whom you boldly confessed to be the Son of God, that He grant peace to the world, and that He rid mankind of all destructive diseases. And deliver us from all dangers, as we kiss your venerable relics with faith and longing, and as we celebrate your holy memory. [SD]

Mode 1.

O God-inspired Saint, you were guarded by fortitude of mind, and thus you dismissed the torments of the godless, and went manfully to martyrdom. Your mind was enlightened by the Holy Spirit, and you confounded the unlawful king, and you upheld the Orthodox Faith. And now in heaven, you have received the rewards of your labors, and you ever glorify the Holy Trinity, and you intercede for us who honor your precious relics with faith and love. [SD]

Glory.

Mode pl. 1.

O all you fans of the Martyrs, come and let us be merry on this occasion of the sacred feast of the award-winning Martyr, and let us celebrate it spiritually. Today, we come together to observe the all-venerable feast of the Hieromartyr Haralambos; set before us is the spiritual table of his excellent feats of martyrdom, as well as his most famous skull. His relic pours out a river of cures for all who approach with faith. And they are healed in both soul and body, they are delivered from afflictions, and they receive the great mercy. [SD]

Both now.

From Menaion - - -

Mode pl. 1.

We importune you since you are God’s Mother. O blessed one, intercede for our salvation. [SD]

A pillar unshakable are you in Christ’s holy Church, * and, as your own name denotes, an ever radiant lamp, * all-blessed Haralambos, * shining throughout the whole world * by your feats as a martyr, * driving away the darkness of the worship of idols. * With confidence, therefore, pray to Christ, * entreating Him to save our souls. [SD]
