On February 6, we commemorate our devout father Boukolos, Bishop of Smyrna.

On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyr Julian of Emesa.

On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyrs Fausta, Evilasios, and Maximus.

On this day we also commemorate our father among the saints Photios, Patriarch of Constantinople, the Peer of the Apostles and Confessor.

We also commemorate our devout and God-bearing fathers Barsanouphios the Great Elder, and John who was known as the Prophet.

By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.

In the Temple of God * today, the Savior Jesus * is offered as an infant, * and Symeon the Elder receives Him in his aged arms. [SD]

Verse: Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all peoples. [NKJV]

Behold, the Ancient of Days * in paradoxal manner * is seen today in body * as a newborn babe and is brought into the Temple now. [SD]

Verse: A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel. [NKJV]

“Take now into your arms * this babe, the Lord of glory, * who is the world’s salvation.” * So said the all-pure Mother of God to Elder Symeon. [SD]
