You received divine illumination; * and you lived a life transcending matter; * your career in the priesthood conformed to your name. * For by explaining the Church’s dogmas expertly, * you fortified the divine Faith with Orthodoxy. * O devout Father, pray now to Christ our God, * entreating that He grant us His great mercy. When the only Lord became incarnate * in your womb, He was not separated * from divine nature, but He remained as God * who had assumed human nature, and after birth * kept you, His Mother, a Virgin all-blameless and pure, * as before His birth.
