Τὴν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν.

When the triple-shining light took up residence in your soul, you became a chosen vessel, O all-blessed Saint. For you speak lucidly to all the world about things divine, and clarify the meaning of difficult concepts. O blessed Maximus, you openly declare to all, that the Trinity is super-essential and unoriginate. [SD]

Oikos.

Today, in his memory, marvelous St. Maximus is exhibited to the world as the pedestal of of priests, the foundation of doctrines, the trumpet of wisdom, the pinnacle of martyrs, and the support of the faithful. Everyone, arise to his radiance, and extol his candor and zeal, which he demonstrated for the Orthodox Faith. On its behalf, he mightily confronted the wolves, as a shepherd protects his sheep. He cast them down, and he was awarded the crowns of victory. He openly declare to all, that the Trinity is super-essential and unoriginate. [SD]

Come, all believers and fans of Martyrs, let us extol those soldiers of God, that glorious duo of Christ. They were mighty heralds of the true Faith and genuine lovers of God. So let us crown them with hymns and songs. [SD]

Oikos.

O Christ my Savior, and only benevolent Lord, shameful and disgusting deeds and thoughts have reduced me earth and ashes, rot and worm. And so, I implore You and entreat You, to employ your compassion, as though a sponge, and wash me clean of the filth I have accumulated in deeds and words. Illumine the darkness of my mind with the rays of Your grace, so that I may worthily extol the resistance of Your Martyrs, and crown them with hymns and songs. [SD]

On August 12 we commemorate the holy Martyrs Photius and Anicetus.

On this day we also commemorate the holy Martys Pamphilos and Capito who died by the sword.

On this day we also commemorate the devout Sts. Sergius and Stephen who reposed in peace.

Devout Sts. Castor and Palamos reposed in peace.

The holy 12 Martyrs who were soldiers from Crete died by the sword.

May He who was transfigured in glory on mount Tabor in front of His holy disciples and Apostles, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and our devout and God-bearing Father Maximus the Confessor, whose memory we observe, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
