Resurrectional.

Mode 3. You were so beautiful.

You tasted death in the flesh, O Lord. But by Your resurrection, You cut off its bitterness and strengthened humanity against it, by reversing the failure that resulted in the ancient curse. O Defender of our life, glory to You, O Lord! [GOASD]

For compunction.

Verse: O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your anger. [SAAS]

Mode 3.

How long will you persist in your offenses, O my soul? Till when will you put off repenting? Call to mind the judgment that is coming, and cry aloud to Christ God: “O sinless Lord, who know the hearts of all, I have sinned. Have mercy on me.” [SD]

For the Martyrs.

By faith you shone forth, like most radiant lights, O Saints. You are physicians of the sick, O all-lauded medal-winners. The soldiers of Christ cast aside any fear of rulers and tyrants, and they boldly and courageously confessed Him, who is Lord of all, our God and King. Now they intercede on behalf of our souls. [SD]

Lord, it was not the pool that cured the Paralytic, but rather it was Your word that renewed him. Not even his chronic ailment could impede it; for the energy of Your voice proved to be more potent. He threw off the oppressive burden, and carried the weight of his bed, as testimony of Your abundant mercies. Glory to You. [SD]

Mode 3. The power of Your holy Cross.

My vivifying Lord and Word of God, Your word alone * was a life-bearing brace for the Paralytic’s members. * And the proof of this was that beyond all hope he took up * his bed, on which he had lain for the majority * of his life, when so ordered. [SD]

Verse: O Lord, I will sing of Your mercies forever. [SAAS]

With utter joy the chronic Paralytic carried out * the order of the Master’s divine almighty power. * He took up the bed on which he lay and started walking, * and testified, crying out, * “The One who made me well * told me that I should do this.” [SD]

Verse: For You said, “Mercy shall be built up forever.” [SAAS]

The man who suffered from paralysis for many years * cried out to You, “Have mercy * on me, for I am stuck here. * There is no one who will help me.” Then You, Christ the Savior, * tightened his members and said, * “Take up your bed and walk!” * which he did, O Redeemer. [SD]

At the pool by the Sheep Gate, there lay an invalid. When he saw You, O Lord, he cried out, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is troubled. When I try to go in, someone else gets there before me and gets well. And so I lie here ill.” Then You, O Savior, with compassion said to him, “You say you have no man. I became man for you. For you I am wearing flesh. Now take up your pallet, and walk!” Oh! All things are possible for You, all things are obedient to You, all things are subject to You.
