Marvel at this miraculous paradox: disbelief engendered firm belief. Thomas had said, “Unless I see, I will not believe.” Then, when he touched the Lord’s side, he acknowledged His divinity, as the incarnate Son of God; he recognized Him as the one who had suffered in the flesh; and he proclaimed Him to be God, risen from the dead. And with a ringing voice he cried aloud, “My Lord and my God, glory to You!” [SD]

Verse: Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. [SAAS]

Marvel at this miraculous paradox: grass touched fire and survived. Thomas put his hand in the fiery side of Jesus Christ our God, and touching it did not burn him up. He ardently changed his soul’s disbelief into firm conviction; and out of the depths of his soul he cried to Him, “You are my Lord and God, who rose from the dead! Glory to You!” [SD]

Marvel at this miraculous paradox: John rested his head on the chest of the Logos, and Thomas was allowed to touch His side. But while the one imbibes God’s eternal plan from that ocean of theology mystically, the other is compelled to disclose the mystery to us openly, as he exposes the proofs of the Lord’s resurrection, and he cries aloud, “My Lord and my God, glory to You!” [SD]

O Lord who loves humanity, great and incomparable is the abundance of Your compassion. You endured with such forbearance, as You were struck by Jews, as You were touched by Your Apostle, and as those who rejected You were obsessed with You. How did You become incarnate?
