Οὐ δύναται δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμὸς εἰπεῖν τῇ χειρί, Χρείαν σου οὐκ ἔχω, ἢ πάλιν ἡ κεφαλὴ τοῖς ποσίν, Χρείαν σου οὐκ ἔχω· ἀλλὰ πολλῷ μᾶλλον τὰ δοκοῦντα μέλη τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενέστερα ὑπάρχειν ἀναγκαῖά ἐστι· καὶ ἃ δοκοῦμεν ἀτιμότερα εἶναι τοῦ σώματος, τούτοις τιμὴν περισσοτέραν περιτίθεμεν, καὶ τὰ ἀσχήμονα ἡμῶν εὐσχημοσύνην περισσοτέραν ἔχει, τὰ δὲ εὐσχήμονα ἡμῶν οὐ χρείαν ἔχει. ἀλλὰ ὁ Θεὸς συνεκέρασεν τὸ σῶμα, τῷ ὑστερουμένῳ περισσοτέραν δοὺς τιμήν, ἵνα μὴ ᾖ σχίσμα ἐν τῷ σώματι, ἀλλὰ τὸ αὐτὸ ὑπὲρ ἀλλήλων μεριμνῶσιν τὰ μέλη. Καὶ εἴτε πάσχει ἓν μέλος, συμπάσχει πάντα τὰ μέλη· εἴτε δοξάζεται ἓν μέλος, συγχαίρει πάντα τὰ μέλη.	Brethren, just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, "because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single organ, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." On the contrary, the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are indispensable, and those parts of the body which we think less honorable we invest with the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior part, that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. [RSV]

Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ Μαθηταῖς· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὅσα ἐὰν δήσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἔσται δεδεμένα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν λύσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ἔσται λελυμένα ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ. The Lord said to his disciples, "Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Then Peter came up and said to him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven." Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan; and large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people; but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." And he laid his hands on them and went away. [RSV]

Brethren, all the saints through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated - of whom the world was not worthy - wandering over deserts and mountains and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had foreseen something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfection of our faith. When they deliver you up, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. On August 1 is the procession of the precious and life-giving Cross. We also commemorate the seven holy Martyrs, the Maccabees: Abim, Anthony, Guria, Eleazar, Eusebona, Achim, and Marcellus; and their mother Solomone; and Eleazar their teacher.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῶν ἁγίων ἐννέα Μαρτύρων, τῶν ἐν Πέργῃ τῆς Παμφυλίας ἀθλησάντων, Λεοντίου, Ἄττου, Ἄλεξάνδρου, Κινδέου, Μνησιθέου, Κυριακοῦ, Μηναίου, Κατούνου, καὶ Εὐκλέου.	On this day we also commemorate the nine holy Martyrs who contested in Perga, Pamphylia: Leontius, Attus, Alexander, Cindeus, Mnesitheus, Kyriacus, Menaius, Catunus, And Eucleus.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Πάπας ὁ Νέος, εἰς σάκκον βληθεὶς καὶ θίβῃ ἐγκλεισθεὶς καὶ εἰς θάλασσαν ῥιφείς, τελειοῦται.	On this day Saint Papas the New died when he was put into a sack, enclosed in a basket, and thrown into the sea.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Μάρτυς Ἐλεάζαρος, πυρὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν φλεχθείς, τελειοῦται.	On this day the holy Martyr Eleazar died when his head was burned with fire.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Μάρτυς Κήρυκος ξίφει τελειοῦται.	On this day the holy Martyr Kerycus died by fire.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Μάρτυς Θεόδωρος ξίφει τελειοῦται.	On this day the holy Martyr Theodore died by the sword.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Πολύευκτος, ἐν κοπρίᾳ χωσθείς, τελειοῦται.	On this day Saint Polyefktos died after he was buried in manure.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῶν ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Μήνου, Μηναίου, καὶ τῶν λοιπῶν ἐν τῷ Βιγλεντίῳ, πλησίον τοῦ Χαλκοῦ Τετραπύλου.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyrs Menes, Menaius,and the others in the Quarter of Viglentium, near the Bronze Tetrapylon.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἐν Ἁγίοις Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Τιμοθέου, Ἐπισκόπου Προκοννήσου (Προικοννήσου), τοῦ Θαυματουργοῦ.	On this day we also commemorate our father among the saints Timothy, Bishop of Proconnesus, the Wonderworker.
Μνήμη τῆς ἁγίας ὁσιομάρτυς Ἐλέσης, τῆς ἐν τῇ νήσῳ τῶν Κυθήρων ἀθλησάσης.	We also commemorate the devout Martyr Elesa, who contested on the island of Kythera.
Ταῖς αὐτῶν ἁγίαις πρεσβείαις, ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. Ἀμήν.	By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Κανόνας Νηστείας	Fasting Rule
Νηστεία.	Strict: Refrain from meat, fish, oil, dairy, and eggs.
Εἶναι ἡ νηστεία τοῦ Δεκαπενταυγούτου.	It is the Dormition fast.
