Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomb lamenting. But the Angel appeared to them and uttered, "The time for lamentation has ended; weep no more. Go announce the Resurrection to the Apostles." [GOA, SD]

When the myrrh-bearing women had come with their spices to Your sepulcher, O Savior, they heard the voice of an Angel clearly speaking to them, "Why do you account among the dead the One who lives? For as God, He has risen from the sepulcher." [GOA, SD]

Mode 3. On this day.

On this day does Constantine along with Helen his mother * show the holy Cross, that tree worthy of all veneration. * Raised on high, it is a shame for all the Judeans, * but a shield against the enemy for faithful rulers; * and for us it has been shown forth to be a great sign, * inspiring awe in war. [SD]

Oikos.

O believers, let us honor Constantine and Helen his mother; for, hearing the words of the Prophet, they recognized in the cedar, the pine and the cypress, the tri-composite Cross, by which the saving Passion came to pass. And they roused all the Jews, to be prepared to display before the people the great justification, hidden because of their hatred and jealousy. And when they found the Cross, they put it on display. Therefore, they were revealed to all as victors, bearing the unassailable shield, a great sign, inspiring awe in war. [SD]

On May 21 we commemorate the holy, glorious, God-crowned and great Sovereigns Constantine and Helen, the Equals to the Apostles.

The holy Neo-martyr Pachomios, who witnessed in Ousaki, Philadelphia, died by the sword.

From the Pentecostarion.

On this day, the sixth Sunday of Pascha, we celebrate the miracle that our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ performed on the man born blind.

Light from Light and Giver of Light,

You give eyes to the man born blind, O Logos.

In Your infinite mercy, O Christ our God and Giver of light, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
